COMUNICADO  RED ACOGE 21/03/2020

No Día Internacional da Eliminación da Discriminación Racial ou Étnica, desde RED ACOGE, queremos amosar a nosa especial preocupación polos discursos de odio, racistas e xenófobos cara ás persoas migrantes, que se levan a cabo por parte de líderes de opinión.

Discursos caracterizados pola utilización dun enfoque alarmista, a criminalización e deshumanización da poboación  migrante, e o uso de datos falsos ou terxiversados, xerando prexuízos e estereotipos e unha actitude de rexeitamento cara á poboación  migrante. A reprodución destas mensaxes por parte da cidadanía ten un impacto social directo, xa que inflúen na percepción, recibimento e interacción coa realidade migratoria, fomentando actos discriminatorios contra a poboación  migrante.

Por este motivo, é imprescindible promover discursos nos que se teña en conta que  migrar é un dereito inherente á condición humana, e que as persoas que  migran son suxeitos destes dereitos. Ademais de xerar discursos alternativos, cun enfoque de dereitos, a cidadanía como receptora de discursos de odio, temos a capacidade de loitar contra a xenofobia e o racismo que se desprende desas mensaxes. Así mesmo, temos o poder de contrarrestalos sendo axentes de cambio denunciando calquera feito discriminatorio que suframos ou presenciemos.

Desde Red Acoge poñemos ao dispor da sociedade varias ferramentas para denunciar casos de discriminación, entre elas a App Alerta Discriminación, que nos serve para visibilizar estas situacións e actuar para que non queden impunes.

O 21 de marzo apelamos á cidadanía e a todos os actores sociais e, en particular aos poderes públicos, ademais de formacións políticas e medios de comunicación, a loitar contra os discursos xenófobos e  intolerantes dirixidos á sociedade en contra das persoas  migrantes e refuxiadas.

Fronte ao discurso de odio… Actuemos!
